About
Here we will have a look at LEGO Byggepinner and various other brands who made the same type of building system.
LEGO Byggepinner
We can start with the actual LEGO Byggepinner. They came in four main colours: red, white, blue and yellow. With four shade differences: a slightly darker red, ice-white, dark-blue and orange-yellow. These colours match the LEGO bricks from the same period as can be seen on the picture.

They were available in two sets, 30/1 the largest and 30/2 the smallest. The sets included Byggepinner in the four colours, an idea leaflet and a metal stick to help take the Byggepinner apart in case they are stuck.
The LEGO Byggepinner should not have any markings on them like small numbers or letters. So this is a giveaway if you find markings on yours.
Sticky
Sticky, made by "Bengros", is the name of the brand of Byggepinner that were available in Denmark.

Unknown brand 1
These are made using a harder plastic and slightly bigger than the LEGO Byggepinner. You can see the LEGO Byggepinner on top compared with the unknown brand on the bottom:

Unknown brand 2
Here is another unknown brand discovered in Sweden. They are made using a different plastic, are slightly smaller and the colours are quite different. You can see the LEGO Byggepinner on top compared with the unknown brand on the bottom:

Playstics

Playstics is a brand from the UK. Nearly identical to the LEGO Byggepinner in size, but made using a different material and different colours. They can easily be identified by the number on the middle of the sticks. LEGO Byggepinner has no numbers or letters on them.

Now you might be able to spot which one is LEGO among these?
