Light yellow Norwegian LEGO blockletter brick

At the end of 1953, the "blockletter" mould arrived in Norway. It is known as the blockletter mould because of the blocky/bold "LEGO" on the underside of the bricks. This mould consisted of 1x2, 2x3 and 2x4 bricks with the same slot positions as the ABB bricks. The 1x2 and 2x3 bricks being a new type of brick filling in the missing gaps from the ABB mould.

Basically all the same colours were available for the blockletter bricks as the ABB bricks, except for one addition, the brown bricks. So it seems like the ABB mould was out of use when that colour was introduced.

Brick variations

Here is an overview of what bricks were available in this mould. The short lines crossing the outlines of the bricks are there to identify the slots in the bricks.
